I posted this dude on here away back asking for sexing help. Well, he is definitely a boy, and coming along nice! His name is Sid, Sid the Roo, (Crosby Fan). What you guys think of him or 5 and a hlf months old. No crowing yet. Thanks

It's in a dark location with no flash, he is a darker blue but compared to my blacks, he is super blue. I will get a picture tomorrow of them, there pretty good tho. 5 well spaced toes with awesome feet feathering.

Honestly I like him a lot, first ya build the house than ya paint it. Cross him with a lighter base splash pattern and lighter blue girls. He has great type, size, feathering, balance, soft tail, LOVE the wing (can't see the other) as it looks tight into the body/good angle/none of that end of the wing fly aways so common, crest/beard is super, no idea on comb, eye or skin, or feet so I cannot comment there.
Good luck with a great bird!

Connie, Amy sent you an email with a few pics of some blues that I didn't know what there sex is, her friend from Florida, well that's me and that's one of the birds I believe you looked at. Thanks for the comment. He has dark skin, his comb is dark blue and coming in nicely, has the crease across the middle horizontally. His toes are good, one foot is better than the other but good spread between 4th and 5th on both. I have the perfect splash to breed him to. So breeding his to black will just darken the blue? I hve a black from Amy that I want to breed with him, it's bloodlines half yours. Thanks again

Paddock36, haahhahahaha, that's a good one!

Hello,

Yes it was a lil hard to write Amy telling her that you should keep the birds, lol
Kinda caught in the middle of that one. lol
You can always try a breeding with the black just to see what you get, you never know how the genes are on that black to what you will get.
GM the gorgeous splash male I had from George was out of a black, so ya just never know. But he is a very nice male to work with!

Well I will definitely breed him to all three colors and see what comes out. Thanks for the comments, I hope to have more pictures tomorrow for you to look at of him. I am inspired by your birds and breeding program so for you to tell me that he's even had way decent is a high note in my newly started silkie breeding program. Thank you

Lol.... I just keep trying to get Chad to hold on to those birds for as long as possible. If he does plan on getting rid of them, I hope he considers sending them my way. I see some serious potential there. I think he's going to fill out even more through the chest and get rid of that tall gangly look. I could care less if a bird is vaulted or not. It has a decent sized crest already for its age, lovely cushion, tight wings, great skin color, comb shape, etc. I think he's going to hit another molt at about 8-10 months and be a showstopper. I've seen lots of other pics of this bird in different lighting and he's not as dark as it looks here.
