Blue Swedish Vs. Mallard - fight!

Okay here’s the short of it: I ordered and paid for two Mallards in April with my two Pekins. I have my Pekins but my Hatcher has been struggling to successfully hatch my two mallards. He keeps offering swap outs, which I’m holding out on for the mallards, but today he says he has some Swedish Blues that hatched. My question for all y’all: what would be best for my flock and I: keep waiting for my mallards, or switch out for a different breed, like Swedish? I was looking forward to having a smaller breed. My priority is ducks as pets. Not going to eat them as meat. Eggs will be nice, but priority is as a pet. What would work best?

Are your Pekin females or drakes? Asking because you really don’t want a Pekin drake mating a small Mallard. Swedish Blues are gorgeous and no worry about them flying off either .

I’d go with the Swedish. Much better to have a female that can handle a large Pekin drake.

the Pekins are 9-weeks old, my blues are 2.5 weeks old. So about 7 week difference..? Check my math.

Big difference In size so be careful when you let your littles out around your big ones. Beautiful Pekins!
