Ive been looking into breeds that I want to get a pair or even a trio of, and feel in love self blue d'uccle Bantams and self blue Old English Game Bantams.
How does the color "self blue" work compared to "blue" or are they the same?
What about Lavendar?

Duccles are tough to find show qualtiy, there are a few members on here with quality Millies but idk about self blue.

Plain Blue, or Andalusian blue as it is called, is an incomplete dominant. You Breed Blue to Blue and you get Black/Blue/Splash. But you breed self blue to self blue and all you get is self blue. But self blue is a recessive mutator gene. You will ONLY get self blue if both birds are either self blue or they carry the self blue gene. And crossing self blue on any other color will dilute the other color.
