At what age can you start seeing the color difference between the sexes?

3 or 4 weeks- you'll be able to see dark feathers (not red, but black or blue)on the back of the neck in any that are boys. Splash wheaten are sometimes harder to tell.

As said above.

Males will get a lot of black in the wing feathers, then the shoulders, then the chest. Females will continue a beautiful light creamy brown in the shoulders, and even lighter in the chest.

Thank you for the responses. So it sounds like about the same time I can tell based on the comb. I have one now at 1+ week that has darker wing feathering and is bigger than the others. It will be fun to see if that one turns out the be a roo.

OK, just for fun I am guessing chick 1 is a boy and the other 3 are girls

They are only 1.5 weeks old right now. Little buggers are fast and the dog wanted to eat my phone so the pics are not that great.

I hope one day I can find a local breeder who would sell me some pure Ameraucana chicks.
