Don't have any pictures but can explain about it. I took 2 carport frames extended it wider another 4 ft. I put 4x4s in the ground every 4 ft. or where the legs for the carport fame was. I raised the legs up onto the 4x4s and bolted it down. I covered the whole area with good wire. I placed many nest boxes about 4 ft up on the 4x4s. I planted pampas grass in the pen and I also have 3 pine trees inside the pen. My bob white quail sleep in the pine trees. I have tin underground around the whole pen. the tin is about 15'' under the ground and another 20 inches above the ground. I keep the door locked 24/7. No one goes in the pen but me. My wood ducks, teals. bob white' quail and white doves live there. When I go into the pen everybody is calm the ducks make their noise which is kinda cool as if they are trying to talk to me. I also have a small pond for them its not a deep pond because they don't need a deep pond. I feed them now and then pond plants which I grow and I get minnows and put in their pond. I also use the pen for a grow out for smaller birds

Everybody is sold out of their 2010 juvenile birds by this time, but if you look through local adds (not craigslist

) and the for sale section on this forum you might find some. i have also been told the Game breeder Gazette magazine is a good one that usually has adds in the back as well. Try and avoid hatcherys that sell ornamental/migratory birds because one, most are just the middle man, and two even if they do raise their own birds they are usually ripping you off with their high prices. The only one i would recommend would be Mallard Lane Farms, their prices are fair.

The American pheasant and waterfowl society(A.P.W.S.) is Also a good magazine, and most the breeders are I'm both.

Be careful what ducksvyou put in there with your quail and doves. I lost alot of bobwhite quail this year and though I never caught anyone really picking on them, I know it was some of my ground nesters. teal, pintails and more than likely it was my tree ducks.

It looks like out of all the species I have (30+ I can't keep count anymore) I am only going to have Mandarins, Wood Ducks and Rin teal this year

Keeping my smews and possibly my Mergansers and if my Physically challenged Ruddy Makes it (lost the healthyone) I will havea special needs ruddy and Red Crested pochard to add to my collection.

still waiting on my teal to hatch (marble, greenwings are setting for sure) and my bahama pintails are. I am over run with woodies and manadarins though.. think it is time to thin my own collection.

Oh I have eyton and fulvous tree duck babies too... Working on getting my permit!
