so we have meat birds and are in the process of butcher. We dunked one and when we pulled it out of the water saw that his wings were a blue turquoise color. Has anyone seen this?

What kind of bird? What did you find after plucking? Sounds like a recent injury (bruising, blood clot). Although if you're interpretation of turquoise is the same as mine then I have no idea. Pictures would go a long way here.

I was plucking a quail today that had blue on its breastbone. I thought it may have been an infection as this bird had been scalped good weeks ago and lost an eye. I was about to chuck it, but I decided to skin it out and see. Just blood(bruising) under the skin. Meat was fine.

Also had a Cornish X I butchered last weekend with a huge knot on one wing. Had no idea it ever had such an injury. No infection or bruising, just a hard, cartilage like mass as though it had broken and healed over. Chucked that part of the wing and all else was fine.
