Blue Wyandotte Rose Combs?

Good to know! There is still a bit of black on the comb, and I wasn't expecting that it would turn completely red. They'll be quite pretty when that happens!

Does anyone know when and how blue Wandottes were "created?"

I don't know much about them, but they were buy one get one free at the feed store this spring. Nobody wanted them because they were scrappy looking and naked from being pecked. I'll try to get a full body pic of them. I'm sure they're just hatchery birds, but they sure are pretty!

My feed store says they use Ideal exclusively, but Ideal doesn't list them on their site...

any comb but a rose comb (coming to a point at the back of head ) is a disqualification on a wyandotte , as opposed to a point loss.

Pretty girls. I don't know why more people don't have them. Mine are as pretty as my blue orps and they are as friendly too. When I had eggs for sale last spring I had very little interest in them. I'll still keep my breeding flock of them tho...just because I like them.
