BO likes to stand on MY foot

What is this behavior? Is it a territorial thing, like claiming me as
her own. A few days ago, she kept rubbing against my leg and trying
to get into my lap when I sat down. I wound up carrying her around for
a bit while she rubbed her head against my chest. Sounds sweet and all,
but I bet there is an 'instinctual' explanation.

That's so cute. My White Bearded Silkie hen, Dim, likes to be picked up and cuddled but doesn't come seeking it.

Two of my chooks stand on my feet while I peg out the washing (one foot each),
they get a free ride while I walk around - sort of like when a kid stands on her parents feet to dance.

You are probably right about territory though as the two chooks that do it are the two queen bees...

I'm holding on to my belief that it's because they like me, because they don't do it to DH

Dude, I have a Java that does that, too. Only because I rather move about a lot, I end up standing on HER feet just as often.

As you can probably guess, she comes out on the short end of the deal.

Mine do the same thing. In the lap, on the feet. We raised them in the living room and they got used to hopping right out and into our laps. As adults they don't get that that's no longer standard.
