BO with blue tip of comb?

You may be exactly right. My floppy combed Leghorns pay no attention to their combs; I have never seen them shake their heads, and they are 1.5 yrs and often hang around the back porch.

That comb really looks like it has been injured somehow, to me.

I did some searches here. I did find one thread which clearly states BO combs are supposed to be erect:

Here is another thread where a roo's comb folded over -- he did die. There were some suggestions as to possible causes:

I just don't know. It is encouraging that you are seeing no other sign of illness in any of them.

I wonder what would happen if you taped a cotton ball or some such thing to the underside, to sort of hold it up so the blood could circulate better? Duct tape might work....

Will stay signed on; I'd love to know the outcome.

Certainly hope it is nothing serious!

Did you really just suggest Duct tape to hold her comb straight Trying to visulize that could get me fired LOL

I could try it, if you all think it's a serious issue. I could use a q-tip as a brace and tape it on...

I bet she would scratch it off or the others would peck her head to death though.

You know, if I TRY to be funny, I usually fall flat on my face.

You're both probably right and it would never work. I was simply thinking that if it did, or something like it did, and it never turned blue again, you would have your answer.

Super glue a cotton ball there? Naaawwww......

Maybe just watching for other problems does make more sense.

If an area has its circulation completely cut off long enough, that tissue will die. That's the only way it would be serious if it is just a circulation thing. At worst, if that happened, you would have to dub the area.

Dehydration will make a comb flop, too. I'm sure you provide ample water, but maybe he just doesn't like to drink much. My mother never drank over 8 oz. of fluids in a day in her life, and I'm not much better. Maybe some chickens are like that, too.
