We received 4 Isl chickens spring of 2017. We found BackYardChickens when searching online for how to heat them without a mother. Gratefully the plastic-wrapped-heater-over-wire-cage worked perfectly! We will use this method again, on the next batch of littles.
We are grateful for our little flock. However, ordering from a farm-supply store was a nightmare; the first batch of 12 perished within a few hours of arriving. We hope to find folks locally (Rock Hill SC) who hatch littles, to add to our flock.
Todd is a technician and i manage properties. Todd’s hobby is to fix everything that needs repairing (blessing, yes) ; while i garden and quilt for sale and charity.
