Pretty handsome fella. As you can see he is a bantam and I hatched him myself

Bob lost 4, of his ladies and other coop mates due to a raccoon one night
Hes always been a little feisty and that is one of the clues that I knew he might be Male even when he was little.

After the loss of his coop mates there was Sally left my NH red who also lost all her coop mates

At this time they were in the same coop but separated as they have not all spent enough time with each other yet for sleep overs :)

So there was actually Sally, Bob and my other bantam roo Jinx (a Buff Brahma)who had a scrap with the raccoon, and has a damaged eye and neck scar.

For awhile they were both rather shook up and skiddish. Time went on, and hormones stepped in, (mind you Bob and Jinx as still cockerels for another month)
Bob started the I love you I hate you phase with with me, karate chop here and there, I showed him who's boss, still didn't totally stop him, it would only happened here and there.

Jinx has never been aggressive, but always unsure of himself.

About a month ago I introduced some of my newest chicks, (a Light Brahma and a golden laced Wyandotte) Sheila and Mazie.

I was worried about how Bob would react, Well turns out it was Jinx I had I to worry about.
Jinx would get vicious, and Bob well Bob used those pretty feather to flirt and flirt and try to flirt some more.. Shelia my Lt Brahma was the target and she wanted nothing to do with that, after all she was only a couple months old.

This settled down after they spent more and more time together in the outside pen. (Jinx has to be separated if I am not there) A week or so later more new chicks to introduce, Floyd, Daphne and Pixie, 2 polish and a Silkie)

Well when I introduce new chicks they always have their own side of the coop but the others can visit them through the chicken wire to get to see them.

Then the day came all my newest chicks are out and about, (I am still at the supervising stage)

And as i sit there everyday I watch Bob and how wonderful he is doing is Rooster job.

He stands tall (as tall as a bantam can get) he is always on watch, always going around check to see if the ladies are good, informs them of food and snacks he finds. little flirt here and there.

And since more ladies have been added, Bob no longer gives me the kick to the legs, he just wanders around proud of his new group of ladies he is there to protect. and Floyd. lol

And that is the story of how Bob became the man!
