Bobcat injures chicken

My poor chicken Gretel (10 month old Island Red) was attacked by a bobcat yesterday. Luckily all he got was a handful of feathers off her back but she is still in shock. Not eating, drinking a little. We let our girls free range during the day but not until we catch that bobcat! How long should I expect to see her in shock, not eating? Gretel is such a sweet chicken, my little shadow following me around and quite a talker..normally. Now she just stands still and does not move much. Put her in a smaller dark coop with plenty of shavings and a friend. What should I do? Will she recover? ;(((

I had this same issue. A bobcat chased my 3 hens and killed one.

One of the 2 hens that wasn't killed was very shocked. She had runny poop, and wouldn't eat or drink. She just stood quietly for a long time. It took her about a day and a half to go out of shock. She had finished molting the month before and started a very stressed molt a couple days after the incident.

Some vitamins (Poly-vi-sol with no iron for example) in her water can give her a boost. Sorry about the bobcat problem!
