Bobcat or Hawk?

I lost my favorite bird at midmorning today. There was some racket and when i went out she was gone. There might be 10-15 feathers on the ground with no sign of blood or a major struggle. Any idea what it could have been?

Sadly it looks like i am no longer going to be able to free range my birds.

It could have been almost anything. Coyotes are out in the daytime and are very good at slipping in and snatching a bird but so are many other predators and birds of prey.

I was thinking a coyote would make more of a mess or leave some tracks

It was a bobcat. We found it with our bird in a ditch several hours later. Dark cloud over our home today.
