I also give quail chicks boiled egg for the first couple of days. I just chop it up fine and sprinkle it on top of their feed a few times a day. This would also supplement the the protein level for you.

Boiled egg! I forgot I gave that to them last time and they ate it right up. I'm doing that as soon as I get home!
