I have small space to work with for brooders.. I'm thinking about stacking brooders to maximize efficiency. Any thoughts on using hardware cloth for the bottom to make it easier to clean?

I have 3 brooder 2 small ones and 1 big one. Have 1/4" wire on the small ones and 1/2" wire on the big one. My chicks stay on the 1/4" wire until 10 days old by then their feet are big enough to handle the 1/2". Mine are not stacked but I do have a tray under them to catch the droppings. My adult birds are on 1/2" by 1" wire.

Thanks for the input! What do you use as trays? Could I keep chicks on the 1/4 in wire until the grow out stage?
