Can bobwhite quail go broody how else would they survive in the wild if the don't hatch out their own eggs?

Needless to say bobwhite quail in the wild do go broody or they cease to exist. All birds that fail to go broody would have their DNA removed from the gene pool. Raised in wire pens, eggs collected daily, these 'defective' birds are still allowed to reproduce. Raised in a more 'natural' large pen and covey situation those birds retaining the broody instinct will go broody.

OK thanks I was wondering because I know cuturnix do not usually go broody.
