Bobwhite Quail

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if bobwhites are good for eating? I was thinking of setting up a small cage in our backyard to raise some as a food source for our family

Yes they are very good to eat.......Usually ready at 4 to 6 week for the freezer...

Yes does not take them long...i actually processd mine about 12 weeks ......I have 2 breeding pens of them....a quad of regular and a trio of oranges.....I also have cortunix and they are for sure 6 weeks and are good eats too....

coturnix are good but bobwhite are better for meat!

You can get butler bobwhites which are used for meat. They weight 14-20 oz. when adults. Very big birds.
