bobwhites not laying

I have coturnix that are just now about 7 1/2 weeks old and out of three pens I am getting very uneven egg production so far. They get good light naturally but a little more artificial might not hurt. One pen (2' x 2') with six females and two males gives 4 eggs a day for several days running now. The larger pen with fewer birds 3/3 ratio gives two some days and the same size pen (2' x 3') with twelve birds does not give but one egg so far. Wierd.

Well I have 9 Bobwhite five female and 4 male they are 1 year and 2 weeks on May 1st got my first 2 eggs yesterday I did not think they were ever going to lay but they did so just be patient.
