I would just call the town and ask. I have called several NY towns recently in my search for a new home, and I am always surprised at how helpful they are and how much information they give me.

What type of fencing do you use for your boers? What are their temperaments like - friendly, pushy? Climb like the goats they are, or more or less willing to stay home? We're going to be using electric net for the first several years.

I'm in TN or we'd be talking goat $$. I'm trying to find someone at the local fair in two weeks to talk with, since the only goats I'm used to are dairy goats.

Around here first problem is finding CL negative stock. Most of the locals blink at me but I may want to breed someday. I'm not bringing in unclear stock.

Boer's are meat goats, correct? I've never had goat... what does it taste like?

walkswithdogs, we use high tensel fence and our goats stay in. Ours have never jumped out but you have to make sure the bottom wire is hot and low to the ground or the little ones will crawl under it. Nice to meet you too.

SterlingAcres, I've never eaten goat meat before but my grandfather always teases me about eating one of our little goats. I could never imagine it and I won't let him do it either.
