Looks like bumble foot to me. Check the sole of her foot for a dark scab.I found this pink, somewhat firm boil on my Buff Polish's foot today. Any info/ advice? Pic attached.
Let us know if you need more help. Thanks so much! I'll look at that.
There is definitely a dark red/yellow scab on the sole of her foot. ThanksLet us know if you need more help.
Start with a good long soak inwarm epsom salt water. There is definitely a dark red/yellow scab on the sole of her foot. Thanks
I was able to wash the foot well enough to see it today and I really don't see a big scab, but is that small black area on the bottom of the foot where the infection is coming from? Should I take a scalpel to that? Does it hurt them when you remove these without an anesthetic?Start with a good long soak inwarm epsom salt water.
It could be the entrance wound in case she stepped on something like a thorn or similar.but is that small black area on the bottom of the foot where the infection is coming from?
I would rather take a scalpel or small biopsy punch to the bump on top after carefully disinfecting the area. Chicken pus mostly has the consistency of cheese so I think that using a needle will not be enough to get the infectious matter out.Should I take a scalpel to that?
Chicken do not tolerate anaesthetics well (don't use antibiotic ointments containing pain relief), but they are very hardy and resilient.Does it hurt them when you remove these without an anesthetic?
