Yep. It finally happened. I hard boiled some eggs, made a lovely egg salad, then realized there was something hairlike in my mouth.
No, I did not throw up.
Yes, I came close.
Here is a picture. I don't think you can see it in the photo, but it looks like it is twisted like a rope. I had to use a magnifying glass to see that well.
The little white bit on the side was wrapped around it, like a doughnut.
Last night, I noticed one of my girls has a messy butt. We had a problem earlier in the summer, but I thought I got it cleaned up. It's back again. I don't know when this egg was laid, a few weeks at least.
I am so, so grossed out. I have often wondered over the last decade what would happen if I boiled a worm. I'm afraid I may have just found out. I might never boil eggs again.
Please advise.
