Boiling eggs help

I poke a hole in the large end where the air sac is. put them gently into boiling water, I use a slotted spoon, but any spoon will do.
sometimes a little white will leak out of the egg as it boils. that doesn't hurt anything.
cool the eggs in cold water. after they do not feel warm when you hold one in your hand, peel it. the colder it gets, the better it peels.

sometimes I add a handful of salt to the hot water. sometimes a couple spoonfuls of vinegar.

there actually is a kitchen tool made just for poking the hole in the shell..

this works even with eggs just brought in from the nest.

Controversy has surrounded this issue for years. I've tried all the tips and tricks and have never figured out why eggs sometimes peel easily and sometimes not.

Thanks for the feedback. I do have a veggie steamer so I will give it a try. Nupe - first batch was in an ice bath that I tried peeling while in my yard. If I run into issues ill keep the running water in mind too
