Well, the neighbor got rid of the 3 troublemaker pups he had and now their mom stays out of the yard too...

Bonnie went broody 3 weeks ago on a nest of 8 eggs. We miscounted by a day I guess because on Friday afternoon we got this!!!

She hatched 7, and so far they're all still with us. Even Clyde is behaving himself and keeping an eye on the chicks.

Look what happens when the dogs stay away and I keep away from where she's nesting!

I misspoke, it was a next of 10 eggs. Still, a 70% hatch rate after 4 or 5 false starts? I'd call that a success!!

I hate it when people wont keep their dogs home. I wonder how they would like my goats in their yard?

I hope your hen is a good momma like mine; she's still puffing up and defending the chicks even through they're now almost 8 weeks old. They're now integrating with the main flock while mom still protects them.
