I don't mean to steal the thread but i have a similar problem with one of my Barred Rocks. I have some month old banty chicks in our only separated pen (everyone else free ranges) Do you think she would adopt these guys? I don't want my babies hurt.

you would have to keep a close eye on them all the time for at least a few days..
it only takes a minute for a hen to kill a chick.

AND be prepared to treat for cocci.

sammi~ I have not seen what poops are hers. I will try to go out today and check on her. I did put her in a dog crate with some food and water. Perhaps i'll be able to check out the poo then.
