Hey guys, I am looking to buy Oxine to use as a coop disinfectant, and I would rather purchase it locally than pay through the nose for shipping.

Does anyone know where I can find this in or near Austin, Texas?

A few of my chickens came down with fowl pox, and I think one might have wet pox. I've read that the oxine can be used as a nasal flush for the one with wet pox and that it is good to disinfect the coop to help stop if from spreading to the rest of the flock as well. I'm ordering the pox vaccine as well, but I am hoping to just find the oxine locally if at all possible.

Thanks!

BTW: Of course it is mine and my husband's FAVORITE pullet that is sick. Isn't that the way it always happens? She's my little black dutch bantam, so tiny and fragile and her eyes are all watery and one is swollen and looks terribly painful. Poor baby!

I've been giving Tylan 50 injections since Sunday to try to kick any possible secondary infections, plus I'm putting terrimycin (sp?) ointment in her eyes to give her some relief. She has been such a good patient, staying calm and still even when I am doing awful things like flushing her nose with saline solution or giving her shots. I love all of my chickens, of course, but this one just has a special place in my heart and I will bawl my eyes out if she doesn't make it.

Edited to correct my typos!

I spoke with the guy from www.eggcartons.com this weekend at the Yankee Fall Classic in Syracuse, NY and he says they now stock Oxine. I believe he says like $31 and mentioned that there was no shipping charge. Give them a try. Their number is 1-888-852-5340 or you can use the website. Good luck.
