I found the book mentioned in the subject at the library. It's by Geraldine Lux Flanagan. It documents in pictures (black and white) the chick development starting with the fertilized egg and follows it step by step to the hatched chick.
I thought that those of you who are incubating eggs might be interested in it.
It's almost certainly out of print since it was published in 1969. But may be available at your local library or from used book sellers.
