So I've been eyeballing these two books for a while now: The Mating and Breeding of Poultry and 21st Century Poultry Breeding. Does anyone have these? Are they any good?

Does anyone have a used issue they're willing to sell... Or possible give away?

None are for sale on ebay in the U.S. and I don't want to import from Britain.

Hi Rio,

I managed to find 21st Century Poultry Breeding by Grant Brereton available on Amazon, from 2 sellers in US, one in IN, and one is OR.

$14.46
+ $3.99shipping
Seller: supermoviedeals

$19.62
+ $3.99shipping
Seller: the_book_community

Good luck.

Are you looking specifically for the genetics of plumage color? I have Brereton's book, and I also have "An Introduction to Color Forms of the Domestic Fowl", by Brian Reeder, which is excellent. And of course, if it's in your budget (and if you can find it), "Genetics of Chicken Colours", by Sigrid van Dort.

I'm pretty sure you can find "Mating and Breeding of Poultry" online. Try googlebooks. I know it's often nice to have a hard copy, but you could at least take a look and see if it's what you want before making the purchase.

Found it here.
