So, I being the wannabe interior decorated that I am was thinking. Is there any way to turn these (link below) into little cot. quail pens? With chicken wire perhaps? But how would you put in a door? (btw my building expertise is limited to chicken wire and a staple gun

(obviously this would be indoors)

Build a door with screen in it and have that as the front? like library shelving that has the glass doors?

You have two options that will fit your carpentry skills. A: Cover the front with wire and then mount doors on the side. B: Cover the front with plywood (not osb unless you have to because I hate it a lot) and then cut out some doors and windows. Since it is inside you can use chicken wire for coturnix and bobwhites, but not buttons.

Hmmm. Could I put a door IN the chicken wire?

ETA: it was just an idea. Any simple pen ideas?

If you can use chicken wire, you can use the 1/2"x 1/2" or even a little larger and/or that would be good to make the doors with. What we did for cages.

Alright! Thanks all. Im gonna go look at the quail pen sticky for ideas.

Yes, but you would have to put a frame around it.

Not necessarily, but you would have to use stronger wire than chicken wire.
