Well just remember you can't shut them off when tired. Wilson is 10 and still a going concern. He isn't a sedate dog that plays when you want too. He is hyper from 4:00am till bedtime..
You trying to talk me out of it? ;) I remember ours was always go. It's why I took such a long break after we lost her.

Naw She works me crazy white dog she is finally settling not to chase I failed her it was so muddy I did not keep taking her in by the time it dried out she thought to chase them did not directly kill but really did her in with me wanted to let her settle a might not beat her

Oh I'm not trying to talk you out of it Lisa at all. Just reminding you of the breed and lots of better matches out there..:thumbsup
I definitely won't get another. I like dogs with off switches..:woot

I used to watch the sheep dog trials in the Brecon Beacons in Wales (UK) many years ago. Incredible.
I watched those too. It's incredible how a border collie works. It's why I got my first one. I wasn't the greatest trainer back than, but I did teach a lot of commands to mine. Eventually I just pointed and she would go that way. They do seem to enjoy the whole process, and enjoy learning.

I got some time yet before I get another pup. I will keep it all in mind. Sometimes it takes a while of thinking to be sure of my decision. That's why I want to hear the good and the bad of people's experiences. I only had one of the breed and she was amazing.

Wilson is amazingly rotten and I love him dearly but definitely never want another.....:gig...Oh Willy..:hugs

The second one, one of my daughters got. She got called Moona. She was half the size of Gimli and a lot brighter. I've watched Moona walk along a privet hedge 6 foot off the ground and not once sink in to it.
There is a walk along the Cornish coastline (Cornwall UK) We did about 20 miles one day on the map. What the map doesn't take into account is the ups and downs. Moona and Gimli would run on ahead, then run back to the end of the human line, then run on ahead again. They must have covered three times the distance of the humans and every time Moona came back to herd the humans, she would make sure she went between the humans and the cliff edge.
