Duckling cannot be bored when children as precious as these are around. They look very calm around the duckling:love

The weather is finally getting better! So I'm going to buy a rabbit/puppy-cage for outside. She is having the spurt-arounds now in the brooder, so that nice weather is a good timing. She needs to be able to run more :)
Plus she can interact with the other ducks without them hurting it. If one has interest besides killing her/him that is.. let's hope.

  4. It's great that you are working on getting this little one some stimulation! I had a situation last year that I ended up losing 13 of my 14 ducklings at 4 weeks old. It was heartbreaking (still not quite sure what happened). The one duck that remained was traumatized and had stunted growth from the experience. Now she is over a year old and only weighs about 2.5/3lbs, a little light for an Indian Runner.

I ended up buying a couple ducklings from someone else just to keep her company. Once they grew up and my flock got a little bigger I ended up giving away those companion ducks since they were not a breed I am interested in.
