I’m going to get some plastic up today to prevent as much from coming in, especially on the top!

Oh, that's gonna be tough with such a low roof...and that tree in the way.
I'd try to use a solid sheet of plywood to cover as much as possible up to and around the tree.

Mine want nothing to do with snow. I get a brave soul go out to check things out but turns around and head right back to the snow free coop.

I don’t blame them one bit! But April is a long ways out and I couldn’t imagine hanging out in one room until then

When we built the coop we planned for long cold winters and have kept adding so it’s like 3 separate areas. This year we add a hoop run. We just put the tarp over the run this weekend.

UPDATE!

Happy scratchers! Today I’ll be working on keeping part of their run from accumulating snow this winter to keep them coming outside!
