Then what is going on? It says I'm on the thread and everything we've been saying keeps popping up. And then when I go to the pm again it shows that hardly anything has been said. It's just me probably.

Like Pat said, the thread and PM are different things. This thread is public and everyone can see it. The PM is private and only those who are in it can see things said in it.
