Hi my fellow chicken owners!
I decided to join because I have 7 little chickens. They are 5 months now. No rooster. I live south of Provo so summers are hot and winters can be cold and wet. My mom used to get me chickens, silkies, when we lived in Puerto Rico (30 years ago) so this is my first time taking care of chickens in a completely different environment.
Chickies live in an insulated coop and doing deep litter with a grassy substrate and the run is washed construction sand.
I love watching them play and eat around my backyard. They bring me so much enjoy.
3 of them have started laying eggs. One of them is a silkie.
I hope I can learn tips from you guys!
