I have 2 Buff Orpingtons that i got last spring. they were hatched on April 7th 2008 and they barely started laying about a week ago. is this pretty normal she for them to start laying? about how many eggs should i expect for 1 BO to lay in a week?

Oh goodness, that's a while to wait! Congratulations!!! [IMG]

With the days getting longer, my Orps are cranking eggs out here too. Mine seem to lay very well. Each girl lays around 4-5 a week.

I have three bbs Orpingtons that were hatched May 14, 2008. The first one started laying in February and the third/last one began two weeks ago. Expect an egg per hen every thirty hours or about six a week.
