Buff Orpingtons, RIRs or Silver Wydottes. Of the three, which one is considered the better egg layer? I have five of each and due to coop size and run, I have to downsize. I would like to keep the best egg producers. It will be about another month before they start laying, so I don't know from personal experience which one is best.

Hi, I have a BO and a Wyandotte, and of the two, the BO's eggs are much larger. They both lay one a day though. This has just been my experience though; I am not sure if it is the norm for the breeds.

I have BO and RIR even though I love my girls equally. My RIR are my best layers at an egg a day from all nine.

But my BO stay nice and warm in the cold winters.

I have a RIR and a Wyandotte. And between those two the RIR is a better layer. I think RIR are also one of the breeds that commercial layers use.

Thanks for all the responses. This forum is great!! Can anyone give me an idea, as far as egg production, what I can expect from Buff Rocks, Delawares and Golden Laced Wyndottes? I would assume the GLW and SLW would be similar.
