what nutrients does Black oil sunflower seeds provide i am thinking about buying some tomorrow when i go to create my new feed blend. and what is the average cost??

Below is a link to a thread that has some nutrition info on BOSS. I understand they're a fairly good source of protein. I give my three girls a handful every day or so.

I will say one thing - I made the mistake of putting some in with their regular pellet feed and they made a huge mess. They prefer the seeds so they somehow flipped out the pellets from their hanging feeder so they could get to the sunflower seeds. A huge waste of pellets and a mess in their run.

I find it easier to give it as scratch and it gives them something to hunt and peck for.
