Hey Siz, No Eggs yet. You shoulda put a white silkie egg in there too. I went to that fair sunday and they had a million black silkies for sale but no others. There were a few white and buff silkies in the show, but none went for sale after. Its ok though. I dont 'need' any more chickens.......everything from here on out is all 'want'

The chicks arrived from mypetchicken last wednesday, one didn't make it, the ameraucana, they sent an extra silver wyondotte (I ordered one silver and one gold) All are well, Traci even returned me the money for the single ameraucana, though I really would rather have had the chick! She was such a pretty little thing! (the chick

Hi All,

I'm in Ashby, on the NH border next to New Ipswich. I grew up in Amherst and spent a few years living in Allston. I currently have 4 EE girls who just started laying this month. I started with 6 day-olds last April, but lost 2 to coyotes the last weekend of August (*sniff*). I'm loking for a gentle protector for my ladies... some handsome and diligent young EE roo, and perhaps a few more young EE ladies to help everyone stay warmer this winter.
Anyone up/down my way, I'd love to see other peoples' set ups and just chat chicken. Those who don't have them just look at me funny when I gush about my girls. I'm a first timer, too, so I love to pick the brains of some veterans chicken junkies.

Wakefield here. My son is 13 and we got inot raising the chickens about 2 months ago. Thye're taking over more and more of the yard now:)

It really is a lot of fun.

Hi everyone,
We're in Holland Mass. just south of Sturbridge. Only had Chickens about 1 and 1/2 years, started with 6, now have 61 and 17 guineas. We have almost 8 acres and spend all our spare time building coops. Is anyone else planning on going to the Boston Poultry Show on Nov. 4th at the Spencer Fair Grounds? Out of 15 chicks hatched last April we got 10 roosters and only 5 hens, hopefully our luck will be better with the latest hatches.
