hey boston folk whats up out there no people in this post lately whats everyone up to

I'm south of Boston in Hanson, still chickenless, but hoping this spring will be the spring I finally get my chickens! I've been hanging out on chicken boards and reading Backyard Poultry (charter subscriber) so I might have a clue, but I really want my own birds in my garden!

Oh, I'm not putting it off, my husband is - he's the one that's got to build their house! I know I've been hanging around for a long time chickenless, please let me stay a bit longer and I promise I'll get some!

If your husband is anything like mine you can get him to build that coop, if he really has the time. My husband likes to take over when I start to do things. I use that to get him to build or do things that need to be done. No nagging needed. If you start nailing 2 by 4's together, he may jump in and build your coop for you, you should have a plan or at least an idea on paper of what you're building. When he tells you you're doing it wrong, don't let him see you laughing.

Just tell him how much you really want chickens!

CountryEntertainment, my mom used to use that technique on Dad. If she wanted a room painted, she'd buy the paint, move the furniture, set down the dropcloth and take a couple of swipes. Dad would be on it in a flash, telling her that it had to be done "right", and that he would take over.

I think that's a great technique - it shows a willingness to actually do some work yourself and it saves both you and your DH the pain of nagging.

I did it to my DH today same trick I am now the proud owner of one new chook house MEN
