Bottle feeding & Weaning - mixed breed goats being raised for meat (Boer, Sannen, Alpine).

Hi Everyone!

First time posting here, so excited I love this website!

My Alpine Sannen mix dairy goat just kidded on Monday, 2 adorable kids! Need some bottle feeding advice, mostly need some info on when to stop feeding them milk so I can put them out to pasture. Found a lot of mixed info on how old they should be when you wean them. They are part Boer goat and will probably be raised for eating. Thanks for the advice!!

Kids should be weaned no sooner than 8 weeks. Bottle kids I personally like to wean at 9-12 weeks...but again...no sooner than 8.

Thanks for your info! Do you think you could give a little reasoning, some explanation on why this is the right age?
