im new to this place so hi every one :-)

I have 2 problems with my quails that I thought I should share with you guys ... put in mind that I have 10 pairs each pair caged separately in a 2 X 1 foot cage .

1- they seem to pick each other feathers even though they are in separate cages. I thought I might need to keep each in a cage then let them mate for an hour a day !!

2 - the females , maybe 3 or 4 of them , have bloody "bums" ! looks like they have some problem with laying eggs.

im not sure what to do .... can some one help me

For starters, you need to tell us what kind of quail you have.

I thought buttom meant button so I answered as button

I hope that's what they were

Given the cage sizes & the word "bottom", I'm hoping button quail, too. However, given the problems with the birds, I wondered if it might be a result of overcrowding or poor housing of birds kept in incorrect conditions for their species.

Figured asking for a clarification was wise.
