Bought my first chicks today.

Well, we lost one of our Production Reds the other day, may have been suffocated by the others as they huddled together, I dunno. All were looking healthy and active the last time I saw them, the remaining ones seem healthy and growing just fine. I suppose that is to be expected somewhat.
 
An update, my chicks have been out in their coop for almost a week now doing great. Lost one early on and my "Ams" ain't, they are Easter Eggers, like most from feed stores.
 
I'm sorry you lost one of your chicks. It does sometimes happen but that doesn't make it any less disappointing or sad.

EE are good, I love the 1 we have in our mixed flock. She has a sweet chatty disposition and lays the prettiest pale blueish eggs. Hope you enjoy yours!
