I just picked up my first bags of organic chickenfeed today

I found a local farmer that mixes his own.

I'm no feed expert but the ingredients and price seemed pretty good. Is this a good price and ingredients?

$17 for a 50 lb bag. Grower and Starter

Ingredients - "Our typical blend is open pollinated corn, oats, spelt, roasted soybean, kelp, calcium and poultry mineral mix. it is blended in a hammer mill/mixer, coarse for larger birds, and finely ground for chicks. All whole grain, minimal processing."

today I finally ran out of my old grower feed so I was time to try the new organic feed. I wasn't sure if my 6 week old chicks would go for it with all the chuncks of grain so I put some in my hand and they loved it.

In a few days i will be switching the layers over to the organic feed, I dont think it will be a problem at all since the feed to closer to scratch and they practically run me over for scratch.

Does anyone else have an input on the feed I got? Good or bad I would like to know. thanks!

thats awsome, i usually don't care about organic, but if you can support the local guys at the same time why not. and the price for certified organic is pretty cheap.
