So I got to thinking... what if you put a Jersey Giant over a White Rock...
As opposed to Cornish over a Rock...
Cornish, a game bird now meat, top out at 8lbs... Jerseys, a DP formerly meat, top out at 10lbs.
So, WHY aren't JG's the Cross of choice for a fast growing big meatie?
Boulders seem like a good idea... JG's are the #1 choice, supposedly, for capons...
Figure there has to be a reason that they aren't being used for Cross Meaties
Do they not grow quite as fast as CX?
Feed conversion not as good?
More of the heart/leg/etc problems than CX get?
Both have yellow skin, but the JGs have dark shanks could that be it?
