I have a brahama who seemed to have a bound egg. She went in and out of tye coop panting when she layed the egg had random extra shell in a circle but she was still panting and her vent kept contracting. Late last night I checked on her and found two very soft eggs on the coop floor. Today she had a solid poop and ate feed and some cucumber treats but tonight she is still panting. Should I give her a couple of days? She is 6mos old.

Here's an article with information about dealing with an egg bound chicken. https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/egg-binding-symptoms-treatment-and-prevention.66978/
I've seen some of my girls panting and carrying on, but then they lay a perfectly normal egg. Soft shell eggs are common, I was told, for new layers. Soft shell/shell-less eggs are hard to pass. I had several of my own ladies lay them, and we periodically get them still. We had a few this week, though I think we have a raccoon that's hanging around their coop and upsetting them now.
With my own chickens, I kept an eye on them and tried to watch to make sure the one who had problems did finally lay a normal egg. Watch for the symptoms in the article.

I'm still worried I found two more eggs this morning on the bottom of the coop. Under where they sleep. Both from the same hen. Thats 5 eggs in two days. We don't really have predators but we did go on vacation a week earlier and friends watched them.

Did she normally lay 2 eggs a day before she started having problems? It usually takes about 24 hours for an egg to develop. I would think if she was eggbound then you wouldn't be seeing the soft shell eggs b/c she'd be blocked up. Is she getting enough calcium in her diet? Oyster shells, or layer feed?
