Excellent table fare I've yet to eat a heritage turkey that wasn't tasty. Turkeys are very entertaining and fun to have best to find some close to you for eggs or poults. Though I got my Bourbons from shipped eggs and had no problem hatching them either. My experience with growing Bourbons out is that you need to hatch them early or since I sell most of mine I keep the ones hatched in July and eat them the next year when they are filled out good. It's been so long since they were raised for meat they take longer than Midget Whites who are just as tasty just get finished sooner. I really enjoy my turkeys and get a little sad when I process them but since the feed bill goes way down I don't miss them that much after you cook and eat one you'll be hooked all of my kids got one for Christmas said it was the best turkey they ever had and want to make sure they get one this year
