Boxwood bush in run? Im in zone 6a

Hello friendly chicken people! What is your opinion on a boxwood bush growing in the chicken run? Thanks!

Mine peck at it (pretty sure it's boxwood) in a limited way. Should be fine. Will this be a fresh planting to the run or an established bush in the run?

They may kill it...chickens can be destructive!

Boxwood is on the list of plants poisonous to chickens - mine sometimes scratch around under some established bushes and haven't come to any harm - but I decided not to plant any new ones in the chicken yard.

I did some research after asking and did see they are poisonous to chickens. I will not be adding this to the run. Thank you

Established bush my cousin dug up for me. i read that boxwood is poisonous to chickens so therefore will not be adding to run.thanks

That may be the case. I'll just say that if they really ate toxic plants, I wouldn't have any chickens left. Jasmine in the run, unscathed; hanging out in azalea bushes, unscathed; boxwood, unscathed. Probably countless more.
