boy or girl Olive Egger?

This chick is almost 5 weeks old...what do you think?

Umm...I'm not an expert by any stretch, but the chick appears to be a Barred Rock and a probable male to me.

Olive eggers are crosses, so the usual barring rules aren't reliable. I would say this one looks female so far, but you will have to watch her comb growth.

Thanks. Yes, the breeder has adult Olive Eggers with this type of barring. This chick is not nearly as aggressive as our others who clearly seem to be little roosters. We are hoping for a pullet since it is so incredibly friendly and cuddly
