We got our first chickens 25 weeks ago- 4 “female” chicks- a Wyandotte, a buff Orpington, a Cochin, and a australorp. I have worried that the Orpington was a boy ever since it was a chick! It wasn’t as scared of things as the others, and now when all 3 of the others love dust baths, it never takes them. I have three chickens that are laying intermittently, and I know for sure that the first one to lay was the Wyandotte, the second one was the australorp, and I’m not sure who is laying the third egg. Today the Orpington started making some really crazy noises that sounded awfully like it was trying to crow. But I also saw it sitting briefly in a nest box today, although I didn’t see it produce an egg. Any guesses about its gender? Thank you!!
