Hiya we were told this chicken is a girl when we got her in October think she is between 12 and 16 week I found tiny little bumps on her legs but have read hens can have tiny spurs so now we are not sure I believe she is a Orpington or at least part one do you think she is a hen thanks

That is a hen. Most hens do have spur bumps, and some roosters don't grow spurs until a year or so, so spurs aren't a reliable indicator of gender.

Your bird could be a buff orpington/barred rock mix, it's hard to tell from the pic. Whatever she is, she looks closer to 12 weeks.

thank you for answering me , that is put my mind at rest that she isn't a cockerel

I was starting to worry

She's a pullet, and isn't a purebred Buff Orpington (probably a Orpington mix though).Pretty bird!

Aye some were pure orpingtons and some were crossed with other breeds I let the kids pick so I guess they chose one that was crossed , he had some fully grown greyish ones that I think he said were blue orpingtons they were stunning :)
