Hello everyone! I recently had a couple of broods hatch out a couple of weeks apart and am now starting to wonder which ones are boys and which ones are girls. Actually I'm losing my mind trying to keep track of who is who and can only really tell them apart by which foster mother each brood hangs out with! As you can see they are all pretty similar. Anyway, there is one that I am almost certain is a rooster but I'm not sure about the rest...

Here are the youngest brood - they're 6 weeks.

And the 8 week old brood... with their little pekin foster mum

Any ideas?

How sweet! I can't help you with the gender, can't tell with the solid color and these pics. But, to help tell them apart, get a few different color zip ties and put one around their leg. Or leg bands, but zip ties work just fine.

Zip ties are a great idea! I will have to get some for our next lot.

Also, the farmer we got the eggs from was hoping we might have a girl in here because ALL the eggs she has hatched from this rooster have been boys! Could it be something genetic??

Sigh. I was hoping for at least one little lady :(

Also, my little Pekin would thank you for the compliments! She's the most gorgeous little thing, such a sweet heart and a great mother :)
